FLORENCE — Trailing 13-12 at the half, the Cavaliers went back and forth with Florence Christian in the second half.

Unfortunately, Calhoun Academy fell just short of their fourth win of the year.

“We played well,” Jarecki said. “The kids played hard. I’m proud of them.”

Calhoun Academy came up just short in their region showdown against Florence Christian.

Griffin Creekmore led the Cavaliers’ offense with 23 carries for 156 yards and two scores in the loss. Creekmore also had four catches for 42 yards. Wyatt Rucker added 13 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown. Jesse Reeves provided six carries for 69 yards. Reeves was also 14-25 for 157 yards and an interception.

Defensively, Cole Pate recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown for the Cavaliers. Hunter Rickenbaker led the Cavaliers defense with 14 tackles.

Calhoun Academy (3-4, 0-2) will play host to Robert E. Lee Academy next week.
