DENMARK - The Yellow Jackets took a 1-goal win at Denmark-Olar on Monday.

D-O got 2 goals and 2 assists from O'Nell Clark, a goal and an assist apiece from Daveon Nelson and Daveontae Walker, a goal from Kevin Middleton and an assist from Javonte Hughes.

Dentel Nelson and Trayveyon Pernell combined for 11 saves in goal for the Vikings.

D-O will host Cross in a Senior Night game on Thursday at 6 p.m.

BRANCHVILLE - The Yellow Jackets edged by Edisto, 3-2, on Wednesday night.

The win improves Branchville's record to 9-4.

Jacob Watkins picked up the win with a complete-game performance. He struck out 9 and only allowed 5 hits through 7 innings.

Lee Steedly led the Jackets at the plate, going 1-3 with 3 RBI. Jacob Watkins was 1-2, with a double and a walk. Tommy Garrick was 1-2, with a walk.

Branchville plays a doubleheader Thursday at home against Scott's Branch at 6 p.m.

LAKE CITY - The Cavaliers picked up a win on Wednesday to improve to 9-3 (5-2 in region) on the season.

Conner Brinson (4-2) pitched 5-and-1-third innings in relief to pick up the win, allowing just 2 hits while striking out 8.

Seth Tyson was 2-4 at the plate and Matt Layton was 1-3 with 3 RBI.

CA plays at home on Friday against Colleton Prep at 6:30 p.m., following a JV game.

ST. MATTHEWS - Noah Bearden pitched a complete game, giving up just one hit and striking out 5, to get the Saints a Region 5-2A home win against Batesburg-Leesville on Wednesday.

Leading hitters for CC were Alex Tapia 2-2, double, RBI, and Andrew Isgett 1-3 with both runs scored.

Calhoun County (8-7 overall, 5-4 in region) hosts Gray Collegiate Thursday at 6 p.m.

SUMTER - Brison Ardis pitched 5-and-2-thirds innings to pick up the win for OPS on Tuesday, allowing only 3 hits, 2 walks and striking out 3.

Forrest Sutcliffe picked up the save for the JV Indians.

Peyton Inabinet, Colby Thomas, Nick Revis, Ben Journey and Stokes Kirby each added hits.

The win puts OPS at 7-3 on the season. The JV Indians play host to Hammond School on Thursday at 5 p.m.

LAKE CITY - Conner Hayes picked up the win and Kade Strickland picked up his second save on the season for the JV Cavaliers on Wednesday against the Bobcats.

Hunter Summers was 3-3 with an RBI to lead the Cavs at the plate.

CA plays at home on Friday at 4 p.m. against Colleton Prep.

MONCKS CORNER - The JV Lady Saints took a road win on Tuesday, topping the Lady Cavs by a 14-1 score.

Amberly Way picked up the win with 5 strikeouts and gave up just one hit.

Way also led the offense, going 2-2 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Hadliegh McIntosh was 2-3 with 2 runs scored and Olivia Wilson was 1-1 with an RBI and 3 runs scored. Sidney Berry added an RBI and Hannah Johndrow went 1-2.

The JV Lady Saints are now 8-0 and will play again on Friday in Summerton against Holly Hill Academy at 5 p.m.
