Claflin Basketball Claflin 80, Paine 70 The Claflin Panthers seem to be peaking at the right time, as they avenged an early season and Homecoming loss to the Lions of Paine College, 80-70. The second half had one tie at 48-48 with 13:21 left. But after a time out the Panthers went on an 8-0 run to lead 56-48 with 11:50 left to play. The Lions regained the lead 60-59 with an 11-3 run. That is when Anthony Pigram, Edward Green, and Eric Salley went to work on the perimeter to regain the lead for the Panthers, 68-60, at the 5:44 mark in the contest.
