Orangeburg County EMS transported a woman with a bloody face to the Regional Medical Center on Wednesday afternoon, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.
Deputies responded to a call near Armstrong Terrance on Russell Street where several people reported seeing a man punching the woman in the face. None of the witnesses wished to provide deputies with written statements.
Deputies interviewed the woman at the Regional Medical Center. They said she seemed to be under the influence of alcohol.
She didn’t know what happened to her, only remembering that she woke up bloodied on the side of the road.
She later told deputies that someone threw her from a vehicle and that her boyfriend punched her in the face, the report said.
A deputy noted in a report that the woman had swelling to her nose and face area and road rash on her arms and back.
The incident remains under investigation.
In an unrelated report, a guest of the Country Inn and Suites on Citadel Road reported Wednesday that someone stole his rental vehicle.
He described it as a silver 2017 Toyota Camry valued at $18,000.
