A man said someone fired multiple shots at him as he tried to document a traffic accident on Wednesday morning, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.
The man reported that someone collided with his vehicle on Judicial Circle.
He tried to photograph the other vehicle’s license plate, but the driver knocked his phone from his hand and took it. Then the passenger fired at him with a pistol, the report said.
The man said he reached into the driver’s vehicle, grabbed him by his dreadlocks and said, “Give me my phone.”
That’s when the passenger pulled out a pistol and fired three shots, the man said.
He said fell to the ground when the driver backed up the vehicle a few feet.
The passenger then fired four additional shots towards him, the man said.
The driver and passenger left before deputies arrived.
Deputies recovered six shell casings from the scene.
The case remains under investigation.
