The South Carolina Democratic Party is gearing up for the 2016 precinct reorganization meetings.
Organizing Democrats across South Carolina for the 2016 elections will begin with precinct reorganization at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12.
The county chair will decide where precinct meetings will be held.
At these meetings officers will be elected and delegates will be appointed to attend the County Convention, Orangeburg County Democratic Party Chairman Betty Henderson said.
The Orangeburg County Democratic Convention will be held at 6 p.m. March 24 at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School’s auditorium.
Those who are interested in becoming a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in July must have voted in the Democratic Primary election on Feb. 27, attend the precinct meeting, and be a delegate or alternate for the County and State Conventions.
The State Convention will be held on April 30.
“We urge Democrats to participate in the precinct reorganization to build a stronger party and elect Democrats in November,” Henderson said.
