There’s still no confirmation in regards to South Carolina wide receiver Tyler McDonald is officially a member o the New England Patriots.

It does appear, however, that the Summerville native has become well-schooled in “The Patriot Way”.

When contacted by telephone Sunday, McDonald would not disclose his status or whether he’s received a free agent rookie contract. He did state he’s not yet completely medically cleared to practice following off-season surgery to repair a torn wrist ligament.

Repeated telephone calls to McDonald's agent, Brian Anderson, have also been unsuccessful.

New England currently has 11 wide receivers on the active roster, adding on Monday undrafted rookie free agent wide receiver Derrick Johnson, according to league sources and three open roster spots.

The career leader in receptions and receiving yards at S.C. State, McDonald finished his collegiate career with 159 receptions for 2,389 yards and 17 touchdowns.
