An Orangeburg man reported that a gunman reached into his pocket and stole $1 in coins and his lower set of dentures.
According to an incident report, Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the parking lot of Walmart at 2795 North Road at 4:56 a.m. on Thursday. The victim told them he was parked in his vehicle with his legs positioned outside of the open driver’s side door when another man approached asking for a cigarette.
The man who wanted the cigarette then presented a silver-and-green semi-automatic pistol and demanded money, the victim said.
He said the gunman reached into his front right pants pocket and took $1 in coins and his lower set of dentures.
The gunman then got into the passenger side of a light-colored coupe parked nearby and left the scene, he said.
The value of the stolen items is $401, the report states.

- Deputies responded to a report of a break-in at a residence on Savannah Highway in Livingston at 5:09 p.m. on July 29.
The resident said someone broke into his residence and stole the following: a 55-inch Visio smart TV, a 32-inch Emerson flatscreen TV, a beige Fender Telecaster guitar, an Oscar Schmitt guitar, an HP laptop computer, $80 worth of silver coins and a DeWalt drill.
The items are valued at $3,380.
- Deputies responded to a call from a resident of Bushy Drive near Orangeburg at 9:08 a.m. Sunday about the theft of a Club Cart golf cart, a battery charger and an air compressor.
The items are valued at $3,880.
- A Vance woman who owns property on Miracle Drive in Eutawville told deputies at 4:19 p.m. Wednesday that two men had failed to return several appliances within 10 days after they received written notice to do so.
She said the men hauled the following items to Don’s Car Crushing in Holly Hill: a chest freezer, a side-by-side freezer and refrigerator unit, a window air conditioning unit, a metal wood burning stove, assorted tools, another stove, two metal tables and an ice box.
The value of the items is $2,760.
