Zelda Wise Hoyle, 84, of Orangeburg, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Hilton Head Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Orangeburg, with the Rev. Toni Pipkins officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home in Orangeburg, and at other times at the residence, 1087 Eutaw St., Orangeburg.
Mrs. Hoyle was born in St. Matthews, a daughter of the late John Shelton and Mary Herlong Wise. She graduated from St. Matthews High School and worked for Belk-Hudson, retiring with more than 45 years of service. A member of First Baptist Church of Orangeburg, Mrs. Hoyle was a dedicated preschool Sunday school teacher for more than 55 years. She was predeceased by an infant son, Dennis Joseph Hoyle Jr.; a brother, Troy Wise; and a sister, Alma W. Jackson.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Hoyle (Rick) Carr of Hilton Head; and two special granddaughters, Claire Marie Carr of Boston and Paige C. (Robbie) Buckner of Lancaster.
