BAMBERG -- Ursula Jordan-Parler (Chunk), 76, of 2433 Charleston-Augusta Road, Bamberg, died Thursday, October 5, 2017, at the Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg.
The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Bamberg, S.C. The burial will follow in Bamberg Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Jordan-Parler was born Sept. 7, 1941, to the late Central and Ruby Manigault Williams in Bamberg, S.C. She was a graduate of the public schools of Bamberg County, class of 1959. “Chunk,“ as she answered to from both family and friends, went on to further her education while employed by Hardees in their business management course and received a degree. She was baptized at an early age at Mount Zion Methodist Church in Midway, S.C. Ursula was joined in holy matrimony to the late Robert Jordan Sr. of Syracuse, N.Y., and to this union six children were born. She later met and married the late Ronald (Ronnie) Parler of Denmark, S.C., and to this union two children were born.
Survivors include her children, Sharrell (Nathaniel) James of Bamberg, S.C., Carl (Ursula) Jordan of North Charleston, S.C., Kenny (Tina) Jordan of Denmark, S.C., Benita (James) Jordan-Coaxum of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Wayne (Debbie) Jordan of Atlanta, and Stephanie (Allen) Palmer of Charlotte, N.C.; her siblings, Howard (Elouise) Williams of Cambridge Heights, N.Y., Ethel (Floyd) Robinson of Orangeburg, S.C., Murray (Elorassia) Williams of Bamberg, S.C., Marion (Ethel) Williams of Midway, S.C., Eddie (Vermell) Williams of Bamberg, S.C.; 28 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren;two godsons, Maurice Corujo of Midway, S.C., and Zyques Washington of Columbia, S.C.
Carroll Mortuary of Bamberg, S.C., will be in charge of the services.
Friends may call the residence, 2433 Charleston-Augusta Road, in Bamberg, S.C., or at the fellowship hall of the church after the burial.
