Mrs. Minnie Ruth Reed Robinson, 88, of Springfield, widow of Jesse Robinson, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Aiken Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at Samaria Baptist Church, Springfield, with Pastor Wendell C. Sims officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Robinson was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Orangeburg County, daughter of the late Deacon Arthur Reed and the late Rebecca Milhouse Reed. She was a member of Samaria Baptist Church and graduated from Bettis Academy in Trenton. She taught at Goodland Elementary School in Springfield.

Surviving are eight children, Maxine (Clifford) Josey of Palm Coast, Fla., Jesse Lee Robinson of Springfield, Jackie (Ivory) Robinson of Cope, Gregory (Linda) Robinson of Fairfax, Sandra Hammond of Blackville, Michael Robinson of Springfield, Richard Ricky Robinson of Columbia and Gerald (Sharon) Robinson of Rincon, Ga.; sister-in-law Pensacola Reed of Augusta, Ga.; a brother-in-law, Harold Robinson Jr. of Salley; two special grandchildren, Brian Todd (LaWanda) Robinson of Barnwell and Christy Lynn Robinson of Williston; and a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Fulmer’s Funeral Home, Springfield.

Friends may call at the residence and the funeral home.
