Michael Troy Pooser, 37, of Orangeburg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013.
A celebration of Troy’s life will be held at the First Baptist Church, Orangeburg, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20. The family will receive friends after the service in the sanctuary. Burial will be private.
Troy was born July 24, 1976, in Orangeburg. He was the son of George Michael “Mike” and Yvonne Bozard Pooser. He was a graduate of Orangeburg Preparatory School and attended the University of South Carolina in Aiken. He was manager of Pooser’s Servicenter. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Orangeburg and the Praise Band leader of Embark Church. He had a passion for music, his friends, his family and God.
Troy was an incredible individual. He was loved by all who crossed his path and had a true compassion for others. Troy’s niece and nephew thought the world of him and he adored them.
Survivors are his parents of the home; a sister, Kristen Pooser Petersen (Brent) of Lexington; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis “Sonny” Bozard (Sarah); a nephew, Asher Petersen; a niece, Sloan Petersen; and his girlfriend Lauren Murphy of Orangeburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church, 1240 Russell St., Orangeburg, SC 29115, Embark Church, 212 Doc Elliott Retreat, Orangeburg SC, 29115.
