ROCK HILL -- Mr. John Louis “Shoe” Shoemake, 61, passed away Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Camden to Erva Lee and Anne Kemmerlin Shoemake, he was a graduate of Edisto High School and then went to school to become an electrician. Johnny was employed at Atlas Copco with tech support. A member of Moose Lodge #1720 and the Sons of the American Legion, Johnny loved riding his motorcycle, fishing, crazy t-shirts, boiled peanuts and good barbecue. At the end of the day, he also loved a good laugh, good friends and family.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Robbie J. Shoemake; his daughters, Crystal Shoemake Gillelan (Mike), and Kayla Shoemake Knopf (Kenny), both of Rock Hill; his brother, Robert Lee Shoemake of Charlotte, North Carolina; his sister, Patricia Shoemake Harrison (Rick) of Westmoreland, Tennessee; grandsons whom Johnny adored, John Taylor Shoemake, Jareth Gillelan, and Cole, Tripp and Mason Knopf; two aunts, Evelyn Spigner of Orangeburg and Lou Beth Kelly of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James Ervin Shoemake and David Earl Shoemake Sr.
Services for Mr. Shoemake will be announced at a later date.
