The funeral for Jimmy King Headden, 70, of 117 Headden Drive, Cordova, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, with the Rev. DAvid McManus officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Orangeburg.
Pallbearers will be Edward Jeffcoat, Bert Waltz, Oscar Aldrete, Mike Beckom, Bill Clements and Michael Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Regnale Funderburk, Billy Williams, John Williamson, Jeffrey Fogle and Tony Odom.
Mr. Headden died Thursday, March 7, at Agape Hospice House in Columbia.
He was born April 3, 1942, in Orangeburg County, the son of the late Benjamin Cannon “B.C.” Headden and the late Marie Williams Headden. He was owner and operator of Jimmy Headden’s Painting.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie Tager Headden of Cordova; two daughters, Dona Headden and Joni (Steve) Whisenhunt, both of Orangeburg; three grandchildren, Connor Whisenhunt, Matthew Beckom and Mason Beckom, all of Orangeburg; a sister, Thelma Roebuck of Pelion; two brothers, Joe Headden of Fort Motte and James Headden of Orangeburg; a special niece, Beverly Waltz of Orangeburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the residence and Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Edisto Athletic Booster Club, 500 R.M. Foster Drive, Cordova, SC 29039.
