ORANGEBURG -- Jewel Smith Culler, 88, of Orangeburg, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018. Jewel was the wife of the late J. Hodges Culler.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Orangeburg Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 9, at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home.
Jewel was born a daughter of the late Frank Wilbur Smith and Callie Eubanks Smith. She retired from Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, where she was the printing coordinator. She was a member of Orangeburg Lutheran Church.
Survivors include sons Joe H. Culler Jr. (Renee'), Alan D. Culler and Douglas L. Culler; brother Joseph A. Smith (Katie); sister Sara S. Toomey; grandchildren Margaret 'Meg' C. Culler Smith (Samual), Eric J. Culler (Sherry), Benjamin J. Culler (Nakeshia), Raina C. Abbott (Chad); and three great-grandchildren, Callie, Connor and Giovanni Culler. She was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Elizabeth Culler, and sister, Frances S. Prince.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials may be made to Orangeburg Lutheran Church, 610 Ellis Ave., Orangeburg, SC 29115; to Limestone United Methodist Church, 1123 Studebaker Drive, Aiken, SC 29801; or to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 3955 Southeastern Way, Suite 1A, West Columbia, SC 29169.
