A service to celebrate the life of Isaac Isiah James, 65, of Columbia, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Agape Worship Center Church of God, Columbia, and a second service will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 15, at St. James Baptist Church in Eutawville. Burial to follow in Heyden Hills Cemetery.
Mr. James will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service on both days. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Kornegay & Moseley Funeral Home & Cremation Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family on behalf of his son, Cameron James.
Mr. James was born April 2, 1947, a son of the late Frank and Rosa Bell James. His early education began in Eutawville and continued at Tillman High School in the Bronx, N.Y. He began a career in the printing industry in New York and continued his career with R.L. Bryan Printing Co. in Columbia, where he retired in 2008. He was a part-time in home caretaker for the Kennedy’s Assistive Living and Educational Facility KALEF in Columbia (2008-2012). He served as a member of St. James Baptist Church for several years and later served as a member of the Agape Worship Center Church of God in Columbia, where he served faithfully on several auxiliaries until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Barbara James of Columbia; daughters, Tonya James (friend Ernest Jenkins) of Columbia and Karyn James (friend Venard Simmons) of Charleston; son Eric (Anita) James of Beaufort; foster son Cameron and foster daughter Aaliyah, both of the home; grandchildren, Khaliya Newton, Ayanna Newton, Eric James Jr., Ayanna James and Amaria Smith; brothers, Leroy James of New York, Frank (Rebecca) James Jr. of Vance and Reuben Davis of Greensboro, N.C.; sisters, Annie (William) Laval of Eutawville and Daisy Manigo of Eutawville; mother-in-law, Mrs. Annie Lee Clinton; three brothers-in-law, William, Tyrone and Ray; and two sisters-in-law, Rebecca and Trish.
Mr. James was preceded in death by siblings, Edward Rock James, Nathaniel James, Leon James and Dorothy Gadson.
