ORANGEBURG -- The funeral for Mr. Howard Williams, 78, of 575 Stonewall Jackson Blvd., and formerly of 1725 Myers Road, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Robert E. Howard Middle School, 1255 Belleville Road, Orangeburg. Interment will follow in Belleville Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Dwight Nelson will be officiating.
Mr. Howard Williams, son of the late Thomas and Mary Williams, was born Sept. 12, 1939, in Orangeburg County. He departed his earthly life on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at the Regional Medical Center.
He was predeceased in death by his grandparents, Shedrick and Sylvia Williams (slaves); his parents, Thomas and Mary Williams; siblings, Curtice, Olive Mae, Thomas Jr., Joesph, Alexander, Mary Alice, and Thomasina.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 54 years, Barbara Glover-Williams; four children, Shawn (Monica) Williams, of Charlotte, North Carolina, Elston (Penelope) Williams, Tracey Tobin and Karl Williams, all of Orangeburg; eight grandchildren, Joshua Hatch, Jordan Williams, Brianna Williams, Elston Williams, Edward Williams, Kiyshay Tobin, Adrianna Tobin and Andrew Tobin III; two great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Mary Francis Green, Queen Esther Williams and Helen Williams; a brother-in-law, Arthur Glover; three godchildren, Na'lmah Green, Arthur Green and LaTroy Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at Bythewood Funeral Home, 1195 Amelia St., Orangeburg.
Masonic funeral rites will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at North Orangeburg United Methodist Church, 950 Cook Road, Orangeburg.
Friends may call at the residence of his wife, Barbara Ann Williams, 1725 Myers Road, Orangeburg, or at the funeral home.
