ST. MATTHEWS -- Ezelle Hutchins Jones, 101, of St. Matthews, passed away April 13, 2018. She was the wife of the late Oscar Jones.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., April 16, 2018, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, in St. Matthews, with the Rev. Karl Coke officiating. Burial will follow at 4:30 p.m. in Maple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 1112 Needmore Road, Bryson City, North Carolina 28713.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home, in Orangeburg.
Ezelle was born March 31, 1917, in Bryson City, North Carolina, to the late Charles Hutchins and the late Ida Johnson Hutchins.
She graduated from Almond High School as Salutatorian of the Class of 1935. She was a homemaker and avid seamstress, a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, St. Matthews, and a member of the Golden Group.
Survivors include her three daughters, Anita J. Wolfe (Billy), Janice J. Driggers (Wilbur), and Wanda J. Johnson (Darrell); three sons, Windell Jones Sr. (Linda), Leslie Jones, and Oscar Lee 'Buck' Jones Jr. (Beverly); one sister, Gail Beach (J.C.); her grandchildren, Wendy Jones, Lee Jones (Kathy), Bill Woods, Donnie Woods, Gary Woods (Lori), Fran Andrews (Norman), William Wolfe (Deanna), John Wolfe (Susanne), Amy Bullion (Greg), Jenny Bates (Patrick), Westley Driggers (Samantha), Laura Weatherford (Brandon), Darrell Johnson (Holly), and Warren Johnson (Kristen); 26 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Doris Jones Woods, and son-in-law, Gene Woods.
