Services for Evelyn Brown, 64, of 233 Henry St., Bamberg, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Olar. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She died Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg.
Born April 28, 1948, in Ehrhardt to the late Chester and Ruth Ritter, she attended Clara Barton High School in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Queensboro Community College. At an early age, she attended Pilgrim Baptist Church in Brooklyn. She was employed with the Human Resources Administration in Manhattan, N.Y. as an administrative assistant for many years. In 1973 she was married to Lance Brown. Evelyn relocated to Bamberg in 1997 and became a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Olar. She was employed at the Bamberg Job Corps Center as a residential advisor until her health failed.
Surviving are three sisters, Amanda Evans of Bamberg, and Dorothy Ritter and Patricia Ritter, both of Brooklyn; eight brothers, James Odom of Brooklyn, Frank (Flora) Ritter of Orangeburg, William Ritter of Staten Island, N.Y., George (Renee) Ritter of Orangeburg, Ronald (Beth) Ritter of North, Kenneth Ritter and Andrew Ritter, both of Brooklyn, and Darrell Ritter of Bamberg.
Carroll Mortuary of Bamberg will be in charge of the services.
Friends may call at the residence, or at the church fellowship hall after the burial.
