The funeral for Eddie Shuler of 1 Canvasback Court, Blythewood, will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Grace Christian Church, with Pastor Aaron Bishop officating. Burial will be in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

Mr. Shuler died Friday, March 22, at Palmetto Health Baptist after an extended illness.

He was born Oct. 2, 1925, to the late Wesley Tucker and Amey Utsey Shuler. Eddie attended the public schools of Orangeburg County. He was a member of McBranch Baptist Church, Branchville, and Jehovah and St. John Baptist Church, Columbia. He joined the U.S. Army in 1944. He was joined in wedlock to Doshia Owens Shuler. This union was blessed with four children.

He leaves to cherish fond memories Velma R. Holmes of Blythewood, Minister Eddie Marvin Shuler (Babette) and Edward Shuler, both of Charlotte, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
