The funeral for Cynthia Evon Britt, 50, of 1631 Dorange Road, Branchville, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at McBranch Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dennis White officiating. Burial will be in the McBranch Baptist Church Cemetery.
She died Thursday, Jan. 13, at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 17, 1960, a daughter of the late Samuel Britt and Ida Mae Carmicheal Britt. She attended Sheepshead Bay High School in New York. She attended Kingsboro Community College. She also attended nursing school and was an LPN. She was employed for over twenty years at the Kings County Hospital. She was joined in Holy matrimony to Eric Furlow. She was a member of the McBranch Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories, her loving husband, Eric Furlow of Branchville; daughter, Khalilah Thomas of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sisters, Coretta Iwelu and Sandra Britt, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Lena Resa Britt of Branchville; one brother, Samuel Britt Jr. of Brooklyn N.Y.; one stepsister, Sylvia Williams of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three brothers-in-law, James K. Shelly, Douglas R. Johnson and Kenneth P. Sellers, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law, Lynette A. Shelly of Ladson, S.C. and Deidra S. Sellers of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three aunts; three uncles; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at her sister's residence, Lena (Resa) Britt, at 1629-B Dorange Rd., Branchville.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Owens Funeral Home.
