Bessie Mae Myers Mizell, 94, of 205 Quaker St., St. George, widow of Rene A. Mizell Sr., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Colleton Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Clay Shook officiating. Burial will follow in the Limestone Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home.
Bessie was born on June 29, 1919, in St. George, a daughter of the late Clarence Clement and Rebecca Josephine Singletary Myers. She attended North Charleston and Harleyville schools, was a seamstress with Carolina Girlswear and a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She was predeceased by a daughter, Betty Jo Hunter and siblings, Gordon Myers, LeRoy Myers, Helen M. Berry and Winston Myers.
Surviving are three sons, Rene (Lee) Mizell Jr., Santee, Roy (Ellen) Mizell and Wayne (Sue) Mizell, both of St. George; two daughters, Janet (Harry) Metz, Columbia and Linda Mae (Harry) Collins, Branchville; 21 grandchildren and 34 great- grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and a half-brother, Clarence (Cindy) Myers Jr., Goose Creek.
