More than 500 students recently attended Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College’s first Fall Assembly for new students.
Brooks Harper, motivational speaker and author of “Why Should We Hire You and Seven Skills To Make Mills,” urged students to treat every day like an interview.
He talked to them about turning their passion into a paycheck and told them they could get the job they want through networking, building relationships and surrounding themselves with successful people,
Students also met with coordinators and faculty members to learn about the training they’ll need to get the jobs they want.
Representatives were available at more than 20 exhibit booths to provide information about scholarships, financial aid, student and community organizations and other support services, including job placement services that are available to alumni who have graduated in the past three years and students who have completed at least one semester.
