Another Orangeburg County store has been burglarized, with a thief stealing cigarettes worth thousands of dollars.

Someone broke the front glass door of the Dollar General on Neeses Highway shortly before 4 a.m. Thursday morning.

The thief stole three milk crates filled with cigarettes. Two of the crates contained a variety of cigarettes and one contained Newports.

The value of the stolen cigarettes is $2,600.

The Dollar General is the third local business this week to have a large number of cigarettes stolen. Earlier this week, the Family Dollar on Old Edisto Drive and the Youngs Gas Station on Cannon Bridge Road had a total of about $2,400 worth of cigarettes stolen.

Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 803-534-3550 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.

In a separate incident, an Orangeburg residence was burglarized Wednesday afternoon.

The residents left their Tarheel Lane home at 1:30 p.m. When they returned about seven hours later, they found the front door was slightly open.

The victims discovered they were missing two black Vizio flatscreen televisions, a black PlayStation 3 with controllers, 15 PlayStation games, about $200 in cash as well as other, smaller items.

The total value of the stolen items is $3,810.
