Someone crashed a rental car into a street lamp at the intersection of John C. Calhoun Drive and Myers Road Friday evening and fled the scene.

The driver left behind the car and a digital scale with cocaine residue, according to an Orangeburg Department of Public Safety incident report.

The keys were in the ignition and the vehicle was still running when officials arrived at the scene.

Officials also found copies of two résumés in a plastic bag in the vehicle.

A man interviewed in the case said he came home intoxicated and left the keys in the vehicle. He said it was stolen.

An Orangeburg woman said her 1996 Cadillac Deville was stolen Sunday afternoon by someone while her boyfriend was washing it, according to a Sheriff’s Office incident report.

The boyfriend told officers that he went inside to get a drying towel and when he returned, the vehicle was gone.

In other reports:

* A North man said a 50-inch flatscreen television set, a Nintendo Wii gaming console and a BlueRay player were stolen from his Redmond Mill Road residence Friday. The items were valued at $1,050.

* A Shillings Bridge Road woman said about $2,280 worth of items were stolen from her residence Friday afternoon. The items included: a flatscreen television, a PlayStation 3 with two controllers, an Xbox, two gold earrings, two gold rings and a diamond ring.

* A Flamingo Drive resident said the air conditioning unit at the residence was “neatly” removed sometime between Tuesday and Friday of last week.

The system was valued at $6,000.

* A Belleville Road woman said a gunshot to the roof of her 2013 Chrysler 200 Sunday night caused an estimated $1,800 in damage. The bullet appeared to be from a 9 mm gun.
