Someone broke into a rental vehicle, stealing some expensive pieces of jewelry, according to an ODPS incident report.
The victim flagged down police on Stonewall Jackson Boulevard at 2:14 a.m. Friday.
He told officers that he let a family member borrow the vehicle for an hour, the report said. Someone stole the items from the vehicle when his family member parked it at a residence on Douglas MacArthur Street.
The following items were stolen: two white gold Rolex Datejust watches with diamonds; a black Gucci backpack; a white gold and diamond necklace with a white gold and diamond “key” pendant attached to it; a white gold and diamond tennis bracelet; four college textbooks; a book bag and documents concerning a bail bonding business.
The items are valued at $61,730.
A man jumped in a woman’s truck and wrecked it early Saturday morning, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.
The woman went to pick up her brother at the Seven-o Club on Binnicker Bridge Road in Cope. She left her vehicle running and another man jumped in and drove away, she said.
She said the driver was wearing red pants and a black pullover.
As the deputy completed the incident report, dispatchers reported that the S.C. Highway Patrol located the vehicle in a ditch not far from the club.
The black 2018 Dodge Ram 150 is valued at $5,000.

- A Bruce Street man called deputies on Saturday afternoon to report that someone stole items from his shed.
The stolen items include two grass trimmers, a hedge trimmer, several articles of clothing, two rugs, two mirrors, a bicycle, six sets of bedsheets and a bed comforter.
The items are valued at $1,965.
- A construction worker discovered that someone stole items from a worksite at Binnicker Bridge Road and Slab Landing Road.
The following items were reported stolen: a utility trailer, $1,500 in orange traffic cones and $1,500 in metal racks.
The value of the stolen items is $10,500.
