ST. GEORGE — An inmate in the Dorchester County jail in St. George reportedly hanged himself Thanksgiving Day.

Dorchester County Coroner Christopher D. Nisbet said 34-year-old Scott Kuykendall of Goose Creek was found hanging around 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

Kuykendall was taken to Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, where he was pronounced dead, Nisbet said.

Kuykendall had been detained in the Dorchester County Detention Center since March 30 for a parole violation.

An autopsy will be conducted, the coroner said.
