A 36-year old Branchville man was killed Saturday night, when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pick up truck on Cannon Bridge Road, near Orangeburg.

James "Jim Jim" Mundy V of Branchville was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck that occurred about 10:15 p.m.

According to Lance Cpl. Judd Jones of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Mundy was travelling north on Cannon Bridge Road, outside of Orangeburg, when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a southbound 1994 Dodge pick up truck, driven by Kent Dash, 22, of Gaston. The pick up truck was making a left turn into a driveway.

Neither Dash, nor a female passenger, Britney Sharperson, who were both wearing seat belts, were injured. Mundy was wearing a helmet.

The wreck remains under investigation with the Highway Patrol's MAIT (Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team).

peace and comfort to the family of Mr.Mundy.

Does the special team (Mait) only get called in a fatality?

I would have liked to see Mait investigate Sheriff Malone vs. School Bus!
