RUFFIN -- A Branchville man died after a collision involving two tractor-trailers on the Lowcountry Highway in Colleton County on Tuesday.

Colleton County Coroner Richard M. Harvey said 28-year-old Johnny Sellers died after his truck collided with another logging truck about five miles north of Ruffin.

S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins said Sellers was traveling south on U.S. 21 with a loaded logging truck around 4:35 p.m. when a second logging truck attempted to pull onto the roadway in front of Sellers.

The second loaded logging truck, driven by Stanley Beckett of Pineland, was struck between the cab and logs on the trailer.

Collins said the collision is still under investigation by both the Highway Patrol and the Highway Patrol's MAIT team.

No charges have been filed as of Wednesday.
