The American Red Cross is assisting people whose homes were damaged by fire in Bamberg and Orangeburg counties.

Disaster-trained volunteers are assisting a family whose home, located on Mount Zion Road in Bamberg County, was damaged by a fire Monday morning.

The Denmark and Bamberg fire departments responded to the blaze.

The Red Cross is helping two adults by providing financial assistance for food, clothing and other essentials.

Volunteers are also helping a family whose Travers Street home was damaged by a fire Monday. The Orangeburg Department of Public Safety responded to the blaze.

The Red Cross is helping one adult by providing financial assistance for food, clothing, lodging and other essentials.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits for the victims.
