A Summerville man has been released from jail, nearly two years after being accused of dumping his 2-year-old son’s body in a trash can and filling it with concrete.

Roger Anthony Williams posted $250,000 bond and has been released from the Berkeley County jail in Moncks Corner.

He is charged with homicide by child abuse and obstruction of justice. His trial date has not been set.

Authorities found the body of Rodricus Williams in a trash can in a rural area near Bowman in Orangeburg County in 2010.

Roger Williams’ girlfriend, Grace Trotman, pleaded guilty in February to homicide by child abuse and desecration of human remains. She is awaiting sentencing.

In an affidavit, Williams said the boy had an ongoing health problem and that neither he nor his girlfriend sought medical help for the youngster.
