Burglars forced their way into the Dollar General store at 6508 Charleston Highway in Bowman early Saturday morning, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.
Deputies responded to the store after dispatchers alerted them that its alarm was activated.
Upon their arrival, they discovered the front door glass was shattered as well as the glass case that held cigarettes.
Multiple packs of cigarettes were reportedly missing and several cigarettes were strewn on the floor.
Surveillance video showed a burglar forcing his way inside the business at 4:48 a.m.
Once inside the business, he went behind the counter and attempted to open the cigarette case.
After a failed attempt, the burglar left the store and returned with an object in his hand.
The burglar then shattered the glass to the cigarette case.
A second burglar immediately went to the phone section and took several cell phones. He concealed the phones in a black bag, walked to another aisle and put additional items in the bag.
Both burglars were wearing masks and gloves.
The Bowman Police Department will continue the investigation.
