BAMBERG — Voters went to the polls Tuesday in Bamberg County to elect candidates to fill two vacancies on the Bamberg School District One Board of Trustees and two seats on the Bamberg School District Two Board.

Incumbent Robin Hayes chose not to run for re-election for Seat 3 on the Bamberg District One Board, leaving the door open for candidates Stacy Hutto Long, Kedra Rivers and Mike Ulmer.

Rivers was the top vote-getter for Seat 3 with 136 votes. Ulmer garnered 76 votes, and Long got 41 votes.

For Seat 4 on the Bamberg District One Board, John Hiers, the only candidate left in the race after incumbent Dr. R. Dale Padgett withdrew his name from the ballot, won with 240 votes.

In the race for Seat 1 on the Bamberg School District Two Board of Trustees, incumbent Larry Bias filed for re-election but no other candidates filed to run against him. As a result, Bias reclaimed the seat with 81 votes.

Incumbent Edith Ann Crosby opted not to run for re-election for Seat 2 on the Bamberg District Two Board, and no other candidates came forward. Write-in candidate Tonie Holman, therefore, won the seat with just 10 votes.
