The Eta Gamma Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho, serving Allendale, Bamberg and Barnwell counties, will sponsor its annual Breast Cancer Program, “The Pink RHOad," on Saturday, Oct. 28.
During the program, local cancer survivors will be recognized and share their stories.
Sheila Foster of the University of South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame will be the guest speaker, sharing both her story and her sister’s story. Foster's sister lost her battle with breast cancer.
In 1993, Foster was the first woman to be inducted into the University pf South Carolina Sports Hall of Fame.
The public is invited to attend this program that will feature local survivors, a presentation on breast cancer, a Pink Ice Fashion Show and a reception. The program will be held in Massachusetts Hall on the campus of Voorhees College in Denmark, beginning at 12 p.m.
The Eta Gamma Sigma Chapter continues to solicit sponsorships for the event (Pink Ribbon Sponsors, $50; Pink Rose Sponsors, $25) from individuals, churches, businesses and organizations. Donations and contributions are tax-deductible. Checks are due on or before Oct. 15.
