CAMERON -- The Performing Arts Youth Theater, a children’s theater wing of The Calhoun Players, will present the musical “Alice @ Wonderland” at the Cameron Auditorium on Highway 33 in Cameron at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 11 and 12, with a matinee performance at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13.

This story, based on the works of Lewis Carroll, finds a modern girl, with her smartphone in hand, falling down the rabbit hole and following one adventure after another. She meets the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, Tweedledum & Tweedledee, Humpty-Dumpty and the Queen of Hearts, just to name a few. Alice’s imagination is her only limitation. This quality adaptation has been praised for its humor, artistic modern style and appeal to both children and adults.

The large cast consists of students who enrolled in the Performing Arts Youth Theater’s summer camp in Cameron, which began July 10.

“Alice @ Wonderland” is directed by Peggy Hirth, with music by Wayne Smalldridge and choreography by Allegra Portee.

All tickets are $10. For reserved seating, call 803-823-2948. Tickets are also available for purchase at the door.
