Alpha Omicron Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. will be accepting scholarship applications through March 15. High school seniors in Orangeburg and Calhoun counties may request an application from their guidance counselors.

The most recent recipient of the Victoria Darby Scholarship is Jessica Butler, a freshman at Claflin University majoring in mass communications. Butler was presented to the community at a recent fundraising dinner sponsored by the ladies of Zeta Phi Beta. Other youths spotlighted in the program included Jessica Monique James, a sixth grader at W.J. Clark Middle School, who aroused the crowd of 300 when she spoke on the topic, “If Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were to run for president, what would he say in his campaign?” 

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. was founded Jan. 16, 1920, at Howard University, Washington, D.C. Zeta‘s national and local programs include the endowment of its National Educational Foundation, community outreach services and support of multiple affiliate organizations.
