Santa stopped in for a visit with families participating in Calhoun First Steps’ Parents as Teachers group connection. The theme was “The Reason for the Season.”
Families gathered at John Ford Community Center Banquet Hall to celebrate the season of giving. Each child received a special gift from Santa chosen especially for them. This joyous occasion was filled with music, games, the reading of the "Night Before Christmas" and pictures with Santa.
This special occasion was heartwarming due to kind gestures from the community. The Parents as Teachers families and the Calhoun County First Steps Board thanks the following for their contributions: Mr. and Mrs. Lee Keller, Ms. Melissa Eisom, Rev. and Mrs. Sam Richardson, Roselawn Memorial (James and Marilyn Amaker), Mrs. Retana Reed, Ms. Miriam Aiken, John Ford Association and Hardees-St. Matthews. A special thank-you also goes to the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office: Santa (Capt. Stanley Graham) and Santa’s helpers Sgt. Michael Lawrence and Det. Jimmy Orso. Their presence and participation added to the Christmas season celebration.
