OPS, humanitarian effort

Orangeburg Prepatory School football team members help unload humanitarian relief packages headed to war-torn Africa and the Middle East.

SPECIAL TO THE T&D

Members of the Orangeburg Prep football team spent some of their practice time recently unloading trailers full of blankets bound for humanitarian relief efforts in war-torn areas of Africa and the Middle East.

“It would have taken eight man hours to accomplish what these 45 guys were able to do in 20 minutes,” assistant coach Dr. Sam Lambrecht said.

The boxes of emergency blankets were stacked onto pallets and will be shipped overseas through Global Aid Network. The local effort was coordinated by Marvin Bozard, field strategist for GAIN, and Randy Boland of Bowman.

“Sometimes you just have to chuckle at the way God answers prayers,” Bozard said.
