Orangeburg County's Mid-Carolina 4-H Shooting Sports Club had an outstanding performance at the skeet and trap shotgun event held Dec. 4 at Partridge Creek Gun Club in Ridgeville.

Fifteen shooters represented the club in 4-H and South Carolina Youth Shooting Foundation classes.

"Our shooters showed that we are a highly competitive program," said team coach and 4-H certified instructor Bernie Till. "More importantly - at least to the club reputation and our goal of positive youth development - is the fact that our kids shook hands and said ‘thank you' to the trappers and referees.

"Several coaches commented on our shooters, how well-behaved and courteous they were. They were safe and true athletes, and demonstrated teamwork and sportsmanship."

The following are the place, division and names of the winners for the various categories:

First-place 4-H Junior Division - Thomas Dressel, Tucker King, Will Till

First-place 4-H Senior Division - Remington Ludwig, Dakota Mitchell-Senn, R.W. O'Tuel

First-place SCYSF Rookie - Alex Ahlin, Rion Dwight, Nicholas Waller

First-place SCYSF Intermediate Advanced - Thomas Dressel, Tucker King, Will Till

Second-place SCYSF JV Advanced - Remington Ludwig, Dakota Mitchell-Senn, R.W. O'Tuel

Second-place SCYSF Ladies - Galina McBurnett, Kristina McBurnett, Rivers Till

Second-place 4-H Jr. High-Overall - Thomas Dressel

Third-place 4-H Jr. High-Overall - Will Till

First-place 4-H Sr. High-Overall - Remington Ludwig

Third-place 4-H Sr. High-Overall - R.W. O'Tuel

First-place SCYSF Rookie High-Overall - Rion Dwight
