Pearl Harbor: The 75th anniversary of the horrible surprise attack by Japan at Pearl Harbor will occur this coming Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016. This picture that was taken at Pearl Harbor in 2002 is very significant. The USS Arizona Memorial in the background signifies that fateful day in 1941 when this surprise attack occurred, which would be the entry of the United States into World War II. The battleship USS Missouri, from which this picture was taken, that shows its foredeck, signifies the end of World War II for the United States, as the formal Japanese surrender was signed on its deck on Sept. 2, 1945. The USS Missouri is now a naval museum that is anchored about 1,000 feet from the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. The Wednesday, Dec. 7, T&D will include a special section devoted to the 75th anniversary of that attack.
