Bianca Gertrude Pfeffer and Benjamin Pierce Douglas, both of Columbia, S.C., were married on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 6:00 in the evening at Shandon Presbyterian Church in Columbia. The bride was given away by her father. Reverend Agnes Norfleet officiated the ceremony. A reception followed at the Summit Club of Columbia.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Siegfried Ernst Pfeffer of Orangeburg, S.C. She is the granddaughter of late Ms. Gertrude Pfeffer, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Leonidas Culler (Elinor Price) of Orangeburg, and the late Mr. William Blake Kaliher of Orangeburg. She is a graduate of University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education, and is a teacher at Forest Heights Elementary School.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph William Douglas, Jr. of Athens, GA. He is the grandson of Mrs. William Joseph Douglas and the late Mr. Douglas, and Mrs. Barry Franklin Pierce and the late Mr. Pierce. He attended the University of South Carolina with a major in Economics, and works with Medical Sales at Mac Gases.
Margaret Lanier Oakley, cousin of the bride, and Lindsay Moore Boineau, sister in law of the bride, both of Columbia, were the Matrons of Honor. Bridesmaids were Barbara Ann Hughes of Columbia, S.C., Kelley Drew Connell of Columbia, S.C., Taylor Deberry Tompkins of Columbia, SC, Kelsi Anne Dunlap of Columbia, SC, Angie Petrovic Douglas of Columbia, S.C., and Mary Ashley Harper of Little Rock, AR. Flower girls were Elizabeth Gibbes Boineau, niece of the bride and Emma Wade Douglas, niece of the groom, both of Columbia, S.C.
Joseph William Douglas Jr., father of the groom of Athens, GA, was the best man. Groomsmen were Joseph William Douglas III, brother of the groom of Columbia, S.C., Franklin Turner Douglas, brother of the groom, of Augusta,GA, Robert Trippett Boineau, brother of the bride, of Columbia, S.C., Andreas Michael Pfeffer, brother of the bride, of Little Rock, AR, Eugene Geyton Campbell of Columbia, S.C., Charles Andrew Smith of Atlanta, GA, Spencer Paul Holmes of Atlanta, GA, Ernest Wayne Satterfield of Atlanta, GA, John Parker Hamilton of Greenville, S.C., and Jonathan Taylor Nix of Atlanta, GA.
Following the honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple will reside in Columbia.
