Kathleen McAlhany Thompson of Branchville, S.C. and Bruce Daniel Gustafson of Ehrhardt, S.C., proudly announce their engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Lucius Thompson of Branchville. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Isaac Clyde McAlhany and the late Mr. and Mrs. Homer Mallard Thompson, all of Branchville.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Franklin Gustafson of Ehrhardt and Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Wayne Brown of Blackville, S.C. He is the grandson of the late Ms. Edith Hill of Jackson, S.C.; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Winn of Richmond Hill, GA and the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude Rentz of Ehrhardt.

Miss Thompson has a B.S. degree in Management and Marketing from Lander University. She is currently employed at Farmers and Merchants Bank of South Carolina in Bowman, S.C.

Mr. Gustafson is a graduate of Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School. He is currently employed at Savannah River Plant.

The wedding is planned for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Branchville Christian Church in Branchville.
