SPRINGFIELD – The Governor’s Frog Jump Pageant, featuring contestants as pretty as the blooms on lily pads, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, at the Old Springfield High School Auditorium at 210 Brodie St. in Springfield.
The deadline to register as a contestant in the pageant is Monday, March 19.
The price of admission to the pageant is $5 ages 6 and up.
Age division winners of the Governor’s Frog Jump Pageant will be encouraged to ride in the Frog Jump parade at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, with lineup starting at 9 a.m. at the Springfield Softball Park.
Applications for the pageant are available at Springfield Town Hall. Contestants photos must be turned in, not mailed, by 1:30 p.m. the day of the pageant.
The fee to participate in the beauty only competition is $35. The fee to participate in the beauty and photogenic competition is $45. Checks or money orders should be made payable to the Town of Springfield. One chaperone will be admitted free per contestant the day of the event.
Doors will open at noon on the day of the pageant. There will be no rehearsal, but the stage will be available for practice prior to the start of the pageant at 2 p.m.
Any age divisions having less than three contestants may be combined. Contestant's age group is determined by her age on March 25. Names and numbers will not be given out prior to the pageant.
Age groups include: Baby Miss Tadpole, ages 0-18 months; Toddler Miss Tadpole, ages 19-35 months; Wee Miss Tadpole, ages 3-4; Tiny Miss Tadpole, ages 5-6; Mini Miss Tadpole, ages 7-9; Miss Tadpole, ages 10-12; Junior Miss Frog Jump, ages 13-15; and Miss Frog Jump, ages 16-19.
