Winners in the Food Conservation Department at this year’s Orangeburg County Fair are as follows:

Adult Division

• “Miss Annie” Award – Chuck Wells of Neeses took first place.

• Ball/Kerr Best of Show in Fruits – Sylvia Wells of Neeses took first place for cherries; and Bonnie Dorn of Orangeburg took second places for butter spice nectarine.

• Ball/Kerr Best of Show in Vegetables – Esther Dukes of Cameron took first place for stringbeans; and Sylvia Wells of Neeses took second place for tomatoes.

• Ball/Kerr Best of Show in Soft Spreads – Bonnie Dorn of Orangeburg took first place for wild muscadine jam and second place for plum jam.

• Ball/Kerr Best of Show in Pickled Foods – Doris Padgett of Cross took first place for hot kosher dills; and Macky Sandel of Orangeburg took second place for squash relish.

• Best of Show in Decorative Cakes – residents of Jolley Acres Healthcare Center won for pizza cake.

• King Arthur Flour Cupcakes – Donald Singletary of Eutawville won second place for lemon-lime bliss cupcakes.

Youth Division

• Ball/Kerr Best of Show in Fruits – Elizabeth Hunsinger of Neeses for peaches.

• Ball/Kerr Best of Show in Vegetables – Natalie Corne of Orangeburg for tomatoes.

• Ball/Kerr Best of Show in Soft Spreads – Toby Dempsey of Orangeburg for strawberry preserves.

• Ball/Kerr Best of Show for Pickled Foods – Max Dempsey of Cope for pickled asparagus.

• King Arthur Flour Cupcakes – Jacey Dixon of Bowman took first place for banana nut cupcakes.
