S.C. State cracks Top 10 GPI rankings
November 4th, 2009 by Following the BulldogsThe chances of South Carolina State playing host to a first-round Football Championship Subdivision playoff game keeps looking better by the day.
For the first time this season, the Bulldogs moved into the Top 10 of the Gridiron Power Index Rankings at number 10. This coincides with the Bulldogs’ number 10 rankings in all three FCS polls (Sports Network, FCS Coaches and AnyGivenSaturday.com) S.C. State actually moved past Appalachian State in the important index ranking which serves as a top indicator of at-large playoff selection and is used in making first-round pairings.
As long as S.C. State keeps winning, its standing could further improve as eight of the nine Top 10 teams will face each other over the next three weeks in what essentially is a round-robin for a first-round home game.

#8 New Hampshire at #5 William and Mary
