Gamecocks add fifth line commitment
Wednesday, July 01, 2009T&D Staff Report
The South Carolina Gamecocks added a fifth commitment on the offensive line Tuesday when Havelock (N.C.) High School’s Corey Robinson (6-7, 295) announced his plans to join the team’s 2010 recruiting class, according to GamecockCentral.com.
“It’s great,” Robinson said of USC on a report on GamecockCentral.com. “It’s just history. It’s a chance to be a part of something historical with coach Steve Spurrier.”
Havelock head coach Jim Bob Bryant said USC was very high on his lineman.
“Coach (Brad) Lawing wanted me to tell you guys that out of 375 linemen at their one-day lineman camp, Corey was by far one of the best offensive linemen, hands-down,” he told GamecockCentral.com. “He has a streak of nastiness and great football ability, and they offered him two weeks before camp.”
Bryant told the Web site that the Gamecocks liked Robinson’s versatility.
