Mayor Paul Miller recently presented Peyton White, marketing and admission coordinator at Longwood Plantation assisted living community, with a proclamation declaring Sept. 7-13 as National Assisted Living Week.
During the week, the Regional Medical Center will conduct health screenings at Longwood, residents will take Beanie Babies to the hospital's pediatric ward and Longwood residents and staff will collect goods for their Adopt-a-Soldier project.
