TOFFEE CHOCOLATE COOKIE
Start to finish: 40 minutes
Makes about 24 cookies
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
3.5-ounce Green & Black's Toffee Milk Chocolate bar, cut into small chunks
Position a rack at the center of the oven. Heat the oven to 350 F. Lightly coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.
Into a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to beat together the melted butter and both sugars for about 2 minutes. Add the vanilla and egg and beat until well mixed.
With the mixer on low, add the flour, mixing until just blended. Use a wooden spoon to mix in the chocolate.
Use a spoon to scoop 1 1/2-inch balls of dough and arrange them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet. Use the palm of your hand or the bottom of a glass to press the balls until they are about 1/4 inch thick.
Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until lightly golden brown at the edges. Place the pan on a wire rack to cool completely.
NEW TASTES: Green & Black's Toffee Milk Chocolate bar is available nationwide for $3.49
