Rain postpones Post 4 game in Conway

CONWAY - Orangeburg Post 4 went into Conway hoping to even their first round series with at 1-1 and regain home field advantage. However, they returned home still down 1-0 to Post 111 in their best-of-five series thanks to inclement weather.

Taking a 2-1/2 hour trip like that could take a lot of energy out of a team, but Orangeburg head coach Frank Leysath isn’t too sure if the drive had any effect on his team.

“That’s a question I can’t answer until tomorrow night,” Leysath said. “They seemed to be pretty relaxed coming back, but I won’t know until we get back up there.”

After falling 7-3 in their home playoff opener on Monday, Orangeburg will have Zack Godley on the mound in tonight’s contest. The League IV champs will hope for clearer skies and a victory tonight when they return to Conway for Game 2 at 7 p.m.
