Miriam M. Knight Blume

Miriam M. Knight Blume, 86, of 4700 Brossy Circle No. 83, North Charleston, widow of Lee D. Blume, died Friday, May 16, 2008 at Trident Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at Bryant Funeral Home, with the Reverend Philip Bostrom officiating. Burial will follow in the Harleyville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Teddy Jeffords, Troy Huff, John Moorer, Tommy Chubb, Ronnie Rudd and Carl McDonnell.

Miriam was born on December 5, 1921, in Harleyville a daughter of the late Augustus Errett Murray and Annie Carn Murray. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Harleyville and was a waitress at Colony House, Morrison's Cafeteria and the Francis Marion Hotel. She was first married to Woodrow Wilson Knight Sr. and was predeceased by her daughter, Mildred Grace Knight and siblings; John Wesley Murray, Mildred M. Causey, Carolyn M. Harley and Ruth Moorer Metts.

Surviving is a son, Woodrow Wilson "Woody" (Lorraine) Knight Jr., Harleyville; two daughters, Betty K. (Aaron) Rudd, Cordova and Sheryl K. Plowden, Charleston; grandchildren, Julie (Jody) Eargle, Kelly (Mark) Muckenfuss, both of Harleyville, Annette (Tommy) Chubb, Dorchester, Ronnie (Kathie) Rudd, Lexington, Patricia (Troy) Huff, Orangeburg, Seth Plowden and Spencer Plowden, Charleston; and great-grandchildren, Chelsea Eargle, Jordyn Eargle, MaHalie Muckenfuss, Rylee Chubb, Jennifer Rudd, Ashley Huff and Curtis Huff.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday evening at Bryant Funeral Home, 607 N. Parler Ave., St. George, at other times Julie Eargle's 120 John St., Harleyville.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Harleyville, P.O. Box 345, Harleyville, SC 29448.
